If the Wayne property is zoned in any way other than identical to the county's office /institutional zoning, the only recourse available will be through the courts. This will cost money for lawyer fees and will have to be done quickly. For these reasons, we are starting a legal fund now to pay for a court case. We have already been told by the city that two other large landowners in the area have approached Kannapolis about annexation. The Wayne Brothers annexation is just the start and we need to make sure that any property Kannapolis annexes in this area is zoned in a way that is in sync with the surrounding properties. Unless a large number of people are willing to contribute, we will not have enough money to stop a spot rezoning. A record will be kept with the contribution amount and name of the contributor. Any money not used will be sent back to the contributors.

Please Make Checks Payable to Odell LEGAL FUND and mail it to:

Odell Legal Fund

Please include your name, mailing address, and phone number. A complete record will be kept of all donations and expenses and will be available for anyone to look at upon request. Any unused money will be returned to you. For example, if we use 80% of the money donated, a refund of 20% of your donation will be sent back to you.  This money will be used for legal fees only. I will pay for all other items myself. I really hate to take this step but have decided this is the only way to raise the money needed. If you need any additional information, please feel free to email or call me.
